Starting a Digital Product Business from Scratch in 90 Days (an Experiment)

Welcome to Day 1 of my latest side hustle endeavor: launching a brand new Etsy shop selling printable art! 🎉 Join me as I explore the ins and outs of establishing my digital product business from scratch.

Today marks the beginning of my challenge to reach $5,000 in sales within the first 90 days. Although I am excited, I approach this niche with skepticism. As a seasoned digital product seller, I acknowledge the challenges posed by a market filled with low-quality designs and oversaturation.

My first step? Conducting thorough research using the Product Finder Research Tool:

I aim to identify trending designs that resonate with potential customers on Etsy. It’s crucial to understand what sells rather than creating products blindly.

Once I’ve gathered insights, I’ll define my target customer – Alexis, a 27-year-old preschool teacher who loves trendy yet budget-friendly décor. By knowing my audience, I can craft a focused shop strategy to provide curated collections and seasonal prints they will love.

Before launching the Etsy shop, I plan to create multiple products upfront. This maximizes visibility in Etsy’s algorithm during my shop’s crucial first month. While I’m excited to bring you along on this journey, I’m also eager to share the ups and downs of my experience. Ultimately, I want to compare my results against others and provide guidance for aspiring Etsy shop owners.

Stay tuned for more updates, follow along for tutorials, and let’s see if this digital art niche can deliver on its promises!
