Flat feet are not genetic! Many people develop them due to underused muscles as they age. The key is correction and prevention with simple exercises, specifically sprinting, to naturally restore foot arches.
Start by learning about the exercises that strengthen your arches:
• A skipping
• B skipping
• High knees
• Butt kicks
Sprinting is highly effective, helping to reestablish the arch within 6 to 8 weeks. However, jogging can worsen flat feet as it requires a different muscle recruitment.
For children, encourage barefoot play in safe environments. This helps develop their arches naturally. Look for shoes with thinner soles, like barefoot shoes, to promote healthy foot development.
It’s important to be aware of vitamin deficiencies early in life. Low levels of vitamin D, K2, and magnesium can weaken connective tissue and lead to flat feet.
